Isn't it funny, this time of year, how crazy people get in malls? I mean really nuts. As if everything on sale isn't enough, there have to be doorcrashers. And then sale, after sale, after sale. For the most part, this is why I avoid shopping now. I'm just so sick of buying into the whole retail "You absolutely cannot live without this item" marketing ploy. Or having to go shopping every season because last winter's "brown is the new black" is actually pink this year. So how do I deal with the holiday season, or shopping for holidays? I don't. I avoid. Like the plague, until the absolute last minute.
Now for our anniversary, that's a different story in a way. It used to be that we'd go shopping together on the same day, different stores, same mall. Then meet up, go home and open gifts. Then came the "well this is so perfect for you, I'd like to get it for an anniversary gift for you now, is that ok?". So as far as shopping for gifts, I guess we kind of find things while we are both out shopping. But this year I want things to be different. I really want it to be a surprise. So maybe we'll go back to our original plan. Shop the day before or the day of our anniversary, and surprise each other when we get home.
How do you handle shopping?
